Step By Step - International


For international students and students who do not come under the definition of domestic students.

Step 1
Select the degree you want to study at JCU Brisbane (take note of the course duration and costs).
Then complete the relevant application form:
The deadlines for JCU Brisbane applications are:

- Undergraduate (one week before a trimester start)
- Postgraduate (two weeks before a trimester start)
Step 2

Send your completed international student application form with all supporting documentation including certified academic transcripts and IELTS/TOEFL scores (if required) to JCU Brisbane.  Alternatively, you can apply online or email us at admissions@jcub.edu.au for more information about a JCU Brisbane authorised representative located in your home country.

 

Please indicate on your application form if you wish to be considered for recognition of prior learning.

 

If documentation is in a language other than English, an official certified translation must be included.

Step 3 We will assess your application based on the academic and English entry requirements for your preferred degree.
Step 4

If your application is successful, an electronic offer package will be sent to you.  This will include the following:

  • Offer Letter
  • Name and duration of the degree in which you have been accepted
  • Credit awarded to you for previous studies (if any)
  • Tuition fees and other costs

Step 5

Once you have received your offer, read it carefully.  Then submit the required documentation to satisfy any outstanding conditions of enrolment.  You will also need to complete and sign the Acceptance and Payment Agreement, and return it to JCU Brisbane or our overseas representative, along with the fees listed in your Offer Letter.

Step 6

We will then issue you an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). This is the document that you require in order to apply for an Australian student visa.

Step 7

Use your eCOE to obtain a student visa from your nearest Embassy or Consulate in your home country.

 

Note: Visa applications can take up to six months or more, depending on your nationality and the country from where you are applying. 

Step 8

Once you have a student visa, you are ready to begin your study at JCU Brisbane.
